Coronavirus Update

We are hiring again from the 17th July onwards when campsites are allowed to open their shower and toilet facilities.   We strongly advise that you book any campsites before you travel and check what facilities are open as we envisage them to be very busy.   Ideally it is advised to book at a campsite and support the local economy, however if this is not possible,  you can  "wildcamp" .  Please observe restriction in the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park.

Here are a few of our wild camping tips:

  • Make sure you take all of your rubbish with you.

  • Keep all food and rubbish inside your campervan overnight, to avoid it being investigated by animals.

  • Try not to park in sight of people’s houses overnight. Understandably, people value their privacy.

  • Keep a low profile – avoid loud music, potential hazards such as BBQs, etc.

  • Don’t put the awning up, unless there’s nobody around for miles.

  • If you want to stay the night in a pub car park, ask the landlord’s permission first, and buy a meal and some drinks.

  • Responsibly dispose of your sewer waste. This will mean waiting until you find a designated disposal point.

*** Please note refunds can only be made if the Government stops travel throughout Scotland***

It is now looking promising that we shall be able to travel throughout Scotland again after the 15th July.   We will only allow bookings to go ahead if this is confirmed.  We still have availability in August and are now taking deposits for bookings.  However, in the event that Covid 19 spikes again and we go into lockdown then we would offer a full refund of your deposit.

A Scottish Adventure take the Scottish Government guidelines very seriously.  We are taking reservations for the Summer and we will not ask for any deposit until the Government allows travel throughout Scotland.   This means that if the Government do not allow travel throughout Scotland at the time of your reservation then your reservation will be cancelled.  A Scottish Adventure do not accept any liability for this cancellation as it is outwith our control.

With the uncertainly as to how long the coronavirus will affect us, we wondered how A Scottish Adventure could help bring some light at the end of the tunnel.   We are now offering to take bookings for the summer with NO DEPOSIT required until  the Government allows full travel throughout the country.

Due to the governments advice on 20/03/20 we have stopped taking any bookings for April.  Some campsites have closed while others are operating a pitch only with no shower or toilet facilities.  We will review the situation as more information is received.  We will continue to take booking for the Summer onwards.

Updated 18/03/20

A Scottish Adventure will continue to trade normally wherever possible and within Government guidelines and regulations during the coronavirus period.

As of 18/03/20 there are no internal travel restrictions within the UK.  Hirers should satisfy themselves in relation to the health risks involved in a touring holiday.   If staying at campsites,  please ensure that they are open.
